Ana Bravo realizó una estancia postdoctoral durante un año en el Departamento de Biología Celular y Molecular del Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (C.I.E.M.A.T) de Madrid, en base al art. 37.4 de la L.R.U, desde el 01/06/1990 hasta el 10/06/1991, bajo la dirección del Dr. D. José Luis Jorcano Noval, dentro del grupo de investigación del IP, Ángel Ramírez. En dicha estancia tuvo la oportunidad de caracterizar la expresión específica de tejido del promotor de la queratina K6 bovina en el primer ratón transgénico generado en España. A partir de ese momento, hasta la actualidad, continúa su
colaboración en investigación con el Dr Ángel Ramírez y su equipo, además de otros grupos de investigación. Durante estos 27 años, Ana Bravo es de los pocos patólogos veterinarios en España, y a nivel mundial, que se ha especializado en la caracterización fenotípica de ratones modificados genéticamente, con el fin de identificar las lesiones macroscópicas e histopatológicas relevantes y su mecanismo de acción, o patogenia, que puedan ser útiles como modelo de enfermedades humanas, especialmente de cáncer.
